2009 New Years Ressies

I'm usually pretty good about keeping my new year's ressies. In 2007, I vowed to only have diet coke two times per week. I REALLY kept up with it.. until the last few months or so. I'm over that resolution. I'm all about diet coke, ALL the time!

So, without further ado, here are my 09 Resolutions!
  • Do a pilates vid at least 4 times per week, using my new pink mat (thanks D!)
  • Gain more blog followers (perhaps I'll start using wordpress- I think I like it better)
  • Karaoke more (Paramore and Muse are a must- Katy Perry comes in 3rd)
  • Get a non-twilight related hobby (oh, no worries. My twilight hobby(ies) will continue!)
  • Visit my friends (mainly Lucy) in Nashville
  • More weekend short travel trips with D
  • Continue my love for all things internet and marketing hopefully turn it into my career
  • Play with lots of kittens
  • Go to Spain to see my baby sister, and then hop down to Africa for a bit
  • Work on my plan to move to California within 3 years
  • Mecca to Forks, WA with LA Nikki
  • Convince David to start writing on the blog I started him (don't bookmark quite yet, url is subject to change)
  • Visit David's best friend in KC and meet his girlfriend of many years that I don't believe exists
What are yours?
*blue means I added them after 2009 already started- it's NOT cheating!

They have a great website too. I love it- I think it's the best I've seen!

That's all! Just wanted to give a shout out to some great guys who make great music!

Letter to my own blog

Dear Blog,

I am sorry for the lack of attention. I've tried to keep it from you that I have a secret blog, but I just hate lying. I do. It's just that it's much cooler than this one. People actually read it. And we have a fan-base. It includes one fan. Our VERY OWN FAN! (PS: we= me & LA Nikki)

Today, we had a break-through. Our numbers got huge. We don't know why, but we thank the Native Americans for it. (just a little inside joke between me, LA Nikki and the secret blog)

But LOOK at our stats! And the #'s keep growing...

Seriously, even you have to be impressed with THAT!
Again, sorry. I'll try to post more.

Loves,
me
xo

Update: I can't believe I thought THOSE were good numbers.. the next day we hit our all-time high: 570!

Update 3/6/09: hahahaha... hilarious. if we keep this up, we're in the hundreds of thousands of views a month... hahahaha I love this post. Makes me happy :)

Meet Nikki

A few weeks ago I kicked off my "Meet my Friends" series with Kelly, the kitty lover from NYC.

Today, I want to introduce you to LA Nikki: (she's on our right with her kick-a hair)

Nikki has I job I wish I could steal (although she doesn't think I would want it, but she doesn't understand how bad my job is) Full-time she works for an entertainment marketing agency specializing in online marketing and online PR. They also own an indie record label. Her job is an account director (works directly with clients on projects) and label rep. No fair. *I had to edit out the name of the company because she has a stalker. EW. Also, so lucky.. her very own stalker.. sigh.

Her part-time job is to run shows with the guy who runs a famous performance spot in LA. It's a hard life being so desired. *again- name edited out due to above mentioned stalker.

She really wants to be a music supervisor, which she would be amazing at. Once she made me a mixed tape (not really a tape, but sounds much better than mixed CD) that arrived in a package with little pictures of Adam Brody all over it (i still have the package). The mixed tape was called "HOJ for Bekah" (HOG= High on Jesus, duh) and included songs as amazing as: California, by Phantom Planet, a song or two by Dashboard confessional and even if dance tune by Lindsey Lohan. Seriously, hire her now for your tv and film music needs.

Her brother has his own imdb page, which is awesome.

Nikki and I met over 6 years ago when we lived on Martha's Vineyard (yes, where I met my husband). We were not friends. I have no idea why, and I'm still bufuddled by it since she's the much cooler, west coast version of me. We became friends on the internet after she graduated and lived at home and was bored, and I had the most awful job on planet earth scanning financial documents in Nashville. We spent our days talking online, making fun of CMC artists and blogging on xanga. OH XANGA! (was it even called blogging then?)

Despite the fact that we have full-time jobs and are more grown-up, our friendship has basically remained the same. We spend our days talking online, still make fun of people and we run two secret blogs together. We are also the two most obsessed Twilight and Rob Pattinson fans on planet earth. We've seen each other in person once since we met- I visited for 1 night earlier this year when I was in Cali for work. We ate delicious Thai food, sat on her bed and made fun of people we mutually know and went to a bar in Hollywood that had something to do with wood...

This is our only picture together (sad):

(Yes, we're all flipping off the camera- I am in the front in the pink sweater and Nikki is the 4th on our right in the middle row)

She also says "PEACE" instead of good-bye, which I love. You can find her online by getting to know her stalker and asking him where she hides online!
PEACE!

Meet Kelly

I decided I will introduce my friends to you slowly...

Kelly is my roomate from college, though we almost didn't live together long enough to refer to each other as that. But we do and always will. I love Kelly so super much and she runs the internet at AOL in NYC. She is the editor of a great blog called Urlesque. You should read it. It's funny and quirky and has lots of interesting internet tid-bits. (one of her personal sites is: http://www.kellaroot.com/ and her adorable kitties star here)

She didn't ask me to write this. I just love her lots and miss seeing her and we're bad friends who haven't seen each other in over a year despite the fact we only really live about 2 hours away from each other.

Feel better Kel!

(Ps- remember Tom?)
